task manager not starting error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006"

I have been hearing the Fans speed up to medium and High speed when I am doing nothing that would require any heavy duty resources. I tried both control-alt-delete and  right clicking in the taskbar, and it fails to start up. "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click on OK to terminate the application." I click on OK and it pops up again then I click on OK again and it goes away. 

I have run AVG and Spybot in safe mode with networking but nothing detected.... and have cleared my page file memory also.

Is it just corrupted or do I have a bug/virus.

That's good. What I meant is that in order for YOU to see the file, you need to be able to see hidden and system files. Windows however will see the file no matter if YOU can see it or not.

In autoruns I beleive you did not click on "options", then "Filter Options"

Make sure all boxes are cleared in "Filter Options".

Tommorrow I would like for you to delete the task manager in HP-infected. And copy the task manager from Dell2 to HP-infected. Just in case the task manager was infected and actually starting up the malware.

    Microsoft offers the mrt.exe once a month to scan for and remove infections that hit Windows very hard such as blaster and sasser,etc. You can safely skip the downloading of mrt.exe and check the box to never have windows update offer it to you again. It will come back next month but you don't really need it. You have no symptoms of the blaster and sasser malwares. These viruses came out 10 years ago.

    Alex,

    I WAS  Able to add taskmgr.exe SUCCESSFULLY- Tried it - DONE WORKS.

    My Method - Just in case I only had one shot at this - I added at the same time a  copy of Taskmgr  named Jose.exe (did not try that one yet). They are both residing in System 32.

    NOTE Here - when I was deleting taskmgr it would show up again & again, at the bottom of the file List - like in 3 seconds, so I timed it when I hit delete, I immediately drug the 2 exe files in and clicked in a blank area of the page - to make sure it inserted. Heck maybe it was working before I deleted it, but I did not try it ahead of time.

    #2 Based on the autoruns log, the text document I sent you with registry implementations did not work as all the keys that were supposed to be removed are still present. Did you get a pop-up saying that the data was successfully added to the registry after opening the file?

    ME answer - I don't know, can't remember my own name.. Should we run it Again?

    Sure wish I knew what caused it but I am thankful very much to Alex, that is a LOT of time he put in here on this one ! !

    I guess this was a lot of hoops and shutes to delete an exe file and replace.  

    I am not comfortable not having any anti virus or spybot on my cpu - I still think something is taxing my system but NOT like the previous 3 months...

    You have to have an antivirus, the uninstallation was only for testing purposes, if your issue is resolved now get a antivirus NOW.

    you can use MSE or one of your choice as long as you have ONE antivirus and you can have on demand scanners for spyware and malware.
