task manager not starting error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006"

I have been hearing the Fans speed up to medium and High speed when I am doing nothing that would require any heavy duty resources. I tried both control-alt-delete and  right clicking in the taskbar, and it fails to start up. "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click on OK to terminate the application." I click on OK and it pops up again then I click on OK again and it goes away. 

I have run AVG and Spybot in safe mode with networking but nothing detected.... and have cleared my page file memory also.

Is it just corrupted or do I have a bug/virus.

That's good. What I meant is that in order for YOU to see the file, you need to be able to see hidden and system files. Windows however will see the file no matter if YOU can see it or not.

In autoruns I beleive you did not click on "options", then "Filter Options"

Make sure all boxes are cleared in "Filter Options".

Tommorrow I would like for you to delete the task manager in HP-infected. And copy the task manager from Dell2 to HP-infected. Just in case the task manager was infected and actually starting up the malware.

    OK SUCCESS so far ran the script and rebooted ok (although the A drive lit up) I have done all of below, Downloaded the uninstall programs and will run them in the morning. 

    GOOD Night and thanks.

    below is done:

    Part 1

    1. After you download the attached text document from the email,

    OPTIONAL: Check if the contents are the same as I posted on the forum if you wish.

    1. Change the extension of the document from ".txt" to ".reg"

    3)Double click the file to import it into the registry. You will get a prompt asking you if you want to add this information to the registry, click "yes".

    When finished, restart your computer. Your computer should start up much faster now.

    Part 2

    1. Please download the avg remover

    LINK> http://www.avg.com/ca-en/utilities

    Open the exe file and uninstall avg.

    1. Please download the malwarebytes remover

    LINK> http://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/20818461-use-mbam-clean-exe-to-completely-remove-malwarebytes-anti-malware

    Open the exe file and uninstall malwarebytes.

    OK I need to clarify what to do now,

    1 - you requested another run of Autoruns or Cports cuz I did not click or uncheck something? (if I recall correctly).

    2- run the script you provided,

    3- Hide the hidden files again or make them hidden unable to view?

    or something else first.

    My thoughts if I did not provide a clean or correct report of autoruns for you it may affect the HPd220 differently. Meaning I want to make sure I have provided correct info before I run your script, But what ever you recomend is OK with me..

    I will open and check your program to see if it looks just like your above post.

    OK I did the  Click start Selected "run" typed in "services.msc" it was ON. 

    "(Disabled "Shell Hardware Detection" and click "stop" if it is running just as you did on dell2)".

    BUT THIS WAS Much different than the first time I did it on the Dell2. The dell2 had a tabbed style window, and here on the HPd220 it looked more like windows explorer type - but it is done, I guess. and I hope if I have to use the thumb drive again (which I will) there is nothing virul on it.

    HIDDEN FILES are all open on both computers as I needed to view them SO BEFORE I PROCEED DO I  Need to address or do anything to HIDE the SYSTEM Files?

    "A virus can insert malicious content on a usb thumb drive and allow it to spread to any computer you insert it to using that autorun.inf file. 

    If you enable showing hidden files and system protected files, you will be able to see the autorun.inf file on your usb drive. Check to see if there is one now. If there is please open it and copy and paste the contents to this forum.

    To not allow virus spreading via usb drives on hp; follow these steps:

    Click start

    Click "run"

    type in "services.msc"

    Disable "Shell Hardware Detection" and click "stop" if it is running just as you did on dell2.
