task manager not starting error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006"

I have been hearing the Fans speed up to medium and High speed when I am doing nothing that would require any heavy duty resources. I tried both control-alt-delete and  right clicking in the taskbar, and it fails to start up. "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click on OK to terminate the application." I click on OK and it pops up again then I click on OK again and it goes away. 

I have run AVG and Spybot in safe mode with networking but nothing detected.... and have cleared my page file memory also.

Is it just corrupted or do I have a bug/virus.

That's good. What I meant is that in order for YOU to see the file, you need to be able to see hidden and system files. Windows however will see the file no matter if YOU can see it or not.

In autoruns I beleive you did not click on "options", then "Filter Options"

Make sure all boxes are cleared in "Filter Options".

Tommorrow I would like for you to delete the task manager in HP-infected. And copy the task manager from Dell2 to HP-infected. Just in case the task manager was infected and actually starting up the malware.

    I'm pretty sure it's a false positive. I couldn't find anything about it with Avira but I do have an mrt.exe in a folder in C: that has many random letters and numbers like that. As long as it does not have a startup entry it's fine.

    If you like you can post an autoruns log of your Dell2 and I will be happy to analyze it for you.

    mrt.exe is Microsoft's Malicious Removal Tool. It may be a false positive and perhaps mrt.exe downloaded by windows automatic updates. I'll check online if Avira Antivirus ever makes false positives for this.

    Remember when I told you about the autorun.inf file on usb thumb drives and you didnt understand what I mean?

    A virus can insert malicious content on a usb thumb drive and allow it to spread to any computer you insert it to using that autorun.inf file.

    If you enable showing hidden files and system protected files, you will be able to see the autorun.inf file on your usb drive. Check to see if there is one now. If there is please open it and copy and paste the contents to this forum.

    To not allow virus spreading via usb drives on hp; follow these steps:

    Click start

    Click "run"

    type in "services.msc"

    Disable "Shell Hardware Detection" and click "stop" if it is running just as you did on dell2.

    It seems that my good computer the Dell2 has been getting hits from a Trojan. The anti virus program that's on it is called "Anti Vir Guard" (although out of date) it caught an attack from TR/CryptXPackGen2 Trojan file reported is C:\1b2d28e5a99bcd9c6dbdd170\mrt.exe  I hope I copied it correctly - This Virus may or may not have been in this Dell computer or maybe passed on from my infected HP d220 that we are working on, either by my thumb drive when I transferred my files OR from them both being wired into my modem.
