Windows 8 BSOD System Service Exception

Sorry to know that you receiving Blue screen errors when working on Windows 8. It would be helpful if you could reply to these questions to assist you further.

1. Does the error occur when you are performing any particular task?
2. Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the system?

Let’s try the following steps and check if it helps to fix the issue.

Method 1:

Unplug all the external devices connected to your system (except the Keyboard and mouse) and check if it helps.

Method 2:

Step 1:

You may try booting in safe mode with networking and check for the issue. 

a. Press Windows logo +X and select Run.

b . Type msconfig and hit enter.

c. **** Now click the boot tab.

d. Place a check mark on the safe boot option.

e. Choose the type of safe mode by selecting one of the options below the Safe boot check box:

f. Click applyand then ok. Restart the computer.

Note: After you have checked the issue in safe mode, follow these steps to boot to normal startup.

a. Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

b. In the ‘Run’ windows type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.

c. On the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Normal Startup’ option, and then click ‘OK’.

d. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click ‘Restart’.

Step 2:

If you are not facing the issue in safe mode, you may perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.

Note: Make sure you put the computer back to Normal Startup once you are done with the troubleshooting.

Method 3:

You may also try running a memory diagnostic and check for the issue.

a. Press Windows logo button and F key on your keyboard.

b. In this window, you can find a small search bar. In this search bar enter Diagnose your computer’s memory problem, click on search button and search using Settings option. Follow the instructions to run it.

Hi I REALLY NEED HELP. I've had my new lenovo g585 for about 2weeks then the BSODs started happening. restarted my PC using lenovo recovery so many times but the problem never goes away. hardly have any programs on it. So can I pleassse get some help.

I am having the same problem.  I read in a different thread that this may be caused by Norton.  Norton was removed and  I still have the problem.

I only get the windows system service exception error when on the internet so far. 

This computer is brand new and has only been used for 4 days now and I have had the BSOD system service error about 10 times already.  No additional programs have been installed on this computer other than the very basic programs that it came with.

This is a major issue.  I am almost to the point of wiping windows 8 and installing Vista.  Windows 8 has been a disappointing let down to say the least.

I was not able to get on the internet in safe mode.

same problem here. New pc and nothing installed but what it came with. I get the bsod when I surf. I let the system do all the updates and still the same problem. Not happy at all.

I;m having the same problem.  My laptop is about a month old and started having this problem after a couple of weeks.  Never had a problem with XP.  Get bsod when I try to do backup or surf.  I, too, am not happy.
