Windows 8 BSOD System Service Exception

I followed a lot of instructions/tips posted here unfortunately after the last one 3 weeks ago I got 7 bsods in 12 hours. I took the laptop back to  the store I bought it too and I got a full refund as the last bsod made using the internet incompatible. Thankfully I still have my windows 7 laptop  4 years old is like heaven sent  working better, faster than the 4 month laptop in windows 8.

Before you say ill need to move to windows 8 fair enough ive put the money towards going back to apple macs which i used for 22 years before i moved to PC

I think windows introduced windows 8 too quickly and I think most of us would have moved over gracefully from 7 to 8, however 8 is fine if you have a tablet, laptops PCs  its a different kettle of fish felt too rushed and I know rival companies with tablets where sneaking ahead of Windows but fans of windows would have waited to a better more laptop/pc friendly OS to arrive rather than a os that alienates anyone who doesnt have a tablet

I just restored my computer back to default setting and already got 2 BSoDs

I bought a brand-new laptop a few days ago and I have already had the BSOD many many times with the error System Service Exception. It is so annoying. My laptop is brand-new and I haven't installed new programs yet, and the problem appears when I use Internet. Also, I am using wi-fi in my house, and when I log on the computer again, the network on this laptop will also be interrupted, and I have to do a network repair every time this BSOD happens.

I have done some search on this forum and I tried some of the advices here such as running chkdsk etc, and the problem didn't go away. Now I am running my computer on a clean boot to see how it goes. Meanwhile I really hope Microsoft do something to clean up this issue.

Totally agree Laura, I bought mine in Dec or Jan and been having this issue for just over a month, and it was/is happening with both browsers I have, the IE that it came with and with Google Chrome which I installed after the problem started with IE.  Microsoft needs to fix this issue.

This happened to me almost immediately after Windows automatically updated and installed MANY new updates to my 3 day old computer. I ended up doing a system restore, back to the day before the automatic updates, and then I set my computer to ONLY alert me to updates and let me choose what and when to install if any.

It does not have anything to do with Norton, which I uninstalled the first chance I got.

I'm not saying this is a fix, but it hasn't happened again since I did the restore and reset the updates.
