So if I uninstall ALL the updates, can I reinstall them without installing these listed updates and my system will be fine?

YES YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!! THE ONLY UPDATE TO UNINSTALL IS THE ONE THAT IS  2778344  :-) THEN JUST HIDE IT ! AND NOW ALL IS WORKING FINE ! Wooooo Hooooo :-)

I wernt to the web site and ran the file checker and did the command prompt and i got a CBS.Log issue.  I started to get the system service exception yesterday after the computer prompted for an microsoft update.  I have not seen alot of info for the fix for the CBS.Log errors, is there a place to locate useful info so that we can fix this issue with out having to factory restore it like Gatweway told us.  we have had the computer for a week now and i am worried that this will happen with my new HP laptop that i got the same time.  Is there a way to prevent this?

Yes, there is a way to keep your pc safe and secure.

I personally use Free Avast antivirus plus Spywareblaster for protection against spyware. Superantispyware and Malwarebyes for spyware and malware removal purposes. Firefox as my browser as it has loads of add ons for your security and safty on the web (Visit my blog for more info)

If you want more security then you could consider using Norton DNS which I currently use on my router for extra protection. and the last thing would be firewall, you could either use windows one very simple to use or get comodo firewall which I personally use but it is more advanced and has much better defence.

REMEBER: From my experience if you use above softwares, including firefox and my recommended addons, you will not get infected at all, if you don't download anything that contains malware, virus etc

My other advises would be:

Do not use toolbars if you don't have too.

Do not install third party program that you don't know or trust or you don't use at all!

Do not surf websites that you are not sure if they are safe ...based on site rating like WOT addon on firefox.

Make sure that your system is always uptodate

But, SFC will only find Wndows problems that are due to corrupted files, right?

I am not sure, what else it does.... but yes it does check for corrupted or missing files in Windows system files and it tries to fix them by replacing the older version of the file or if it can not repair then it will let you know that there are some problems that could not be fixed. 

Corrupted files in windows can also cause windows crash and slow it down ... so it is a good idea to check once a month if you install unknown programs or surf web alot.

For this particular problem, it looks like the problem is caused by windows update... therefore the sensible thing to do is to uninstall any recent updates or use system restore to go back if you know which one caused the problem.

Also note that uninstalling updates might fix the problem problem but I personally think is that you have make sure that is not caused by third party software in first place otherwise you will face problems in updating your system later. 

Uninstall unused third party programs installed on your new pc, get rid of unused toolbars, any other software like Sonic player on vaio computers, bing toolbar, evernote, etc. if you don't use them why keep them, just get rid of them.
