How to disable split screen in windows 8/8.1

Hello all,

I run several computer labs and we are about to introduce a boat load of windows 8 machines. The split screen mode allows a unique method for getting around our pc management system.  Does anyone know a way to turn off the split screen feature?

    Just like I showed you in my picture above.  Simply go to the desktop, and then nothing will ever split ever again. Period, it will never happen if you are using the regular desktop.

    Not true. I never use Metro apps - at all, ever - and at least once a day, if I move my mouse wrong the screen will split without me asking. I just want to turn it off. I don't want to have to resize my desktop items all the time after the unwelcome screen split.

    I am using the "regular Desktop" and everything still "splits" when dragged to the edges or corners.

    WE ARE ASKING HOW TO STOP THIS FROM OCCURRING

    I am not sure how to make this any clearer

    Sir, if you wish to alienate your customer base to the very best of your customer-nullifying ability, keep saying that the things that we are experiencing is wrong, doesn't happen, or isn't an isue, period.

    PS: Try finding a different job because PR representative clearly isn't your strong suit.

    You don't have to split anything to use notepad and the desktop.   Just stay on the desktop and open regular old notepad:

    OK guys now HOW TO GET WINDOWS FOR WINDOWS 8.1 ?

    Bypassing metro modern ui doesn't fix the split screen and for sure cannot be used with any apps but microsoft metro so what is usefull to get an half screen when using 2 displays huh ?

    To split a 5 inchs mobile maybe ?

    (tried split with desktop + notepad = useless)

    Did you mention to install a virtual machine and get a serial for windows 7 or xp ^^
