How to disable split screen in windows 8/8.1

Hello all,

I run several computer labs and we are about to introduce a boat load of windows 8 machines. The split screen mode allows a unique method for getting around our pc management system.  Does anyone know a way to turn off the split screen feature?

This was the trick.. I t turns out when  I got the latest wind 10 update it reverted my default browser back to edge. I had been with google as my default browser before and had not noticed the browser change.  Now the split screen is gone. Thank you RogerLee42.

The last item, which I starred, does not exist anywhere on that screen. Where do you see this? Thank you.

my current work-around for this annoying issue

go to control panel

go to internet options

go to programs tab

under opening internet explorer choose 'always in ie on the desktop'

***keep ie full screen on the desktop but minimized to the task bar when not in use

Sorry but as far as I know there's not a way to stop users from opening more than one program and arranging them how they please, regardless of whether those apps are metro/desktop: the distinction doesn't matter because  they're both still just programs, and they both are allowed to be arranged, resized, or positioned by the user.  But if they don't use metro apps, they'll never see them.  Windows will never force a user into the metro environment: the user has to go there on their own if they want it.

Can I just grab a hammer and beat the **** out of this computer first? Then never purchase anything ever again by this Goddamn Microsoft **** company?!
