I can't update my Windows 8 Apps in start screen. Tried all steps and get stuck on this DISM Command. The /scanhealth completed successfully though but this /restorehealth didn't. It says DISM Failed. No Operation Was Performed. For More Information, Please Review the Log File.

As per the description provided I understand that you are unable to perform app update, it would be grateful if you can reply to this question in order to assist you further.

·         Have you made any changes to the computer to this issue?

This problem may occur if the Windows Update database is corrupted. I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run the Windows update troubleshooter and check if it helps.

a) Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.

b) Type troubleshooter in the search box and then press enter.

c) Select Troubleshooting. Click on view all and select Windows Update and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2:

You may disable the Proxy setting and check if it helps:

a. Follow these steps and check if it helps.

a. **** Press Windows Key +R, typeinetcpl.cpl and press enter.

b. **** Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.

c. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.

d. Click Ok.

Method 3:

  1. Type Notepad on start screen, and press enter.
  2. Copy the following text, and then paste the text into Notepad.

net stop wuauserv

cd %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

ren Download Download.old

net start wuauserv

net stop bits

net start bits

net stop cryptsvc

cd %systemroot%\system32

ren catroot2 catroot2old

net start cryptsvc

  1. Click File, click Save As, and then type Repair.bat.
  2. In the Save as type box, click All Files.
  3. In the Save in box, click Desktop, and then click Save.
  4. On the File menu, click Exit.
  5. Double-click the Repair.bat file that you saved in step 5.

Try to install the updates again. If you can install the updates, delete the Repair.bat file. To do this, right-click Repair.bat, click Delete, and then click Yes.

    I just fixed this on a fresh Windows 10 box in an Enterprise domain with a proxy server. It's quite simple. You have to get Windows Update to utilize the proxy.

    First, Export/Backup the following registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

    Usually in an enterprise environment they will point WU to an internal WSUS server. Those settings reside here. Delete the "WindowsUpdate" registry location after you backed it up(including Sub keys etc..).

    Next: CMD(Admin)

    net stop wuauserv

    Next: Set your proxy settings in IE/Edge/Control panel.

    Next: Import your proxy settings for the winhttp module: CMD(Admin)

    netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie

    Next: CMD(Admin)

    net start wuauserv

    And that's it. Windows Update will now utilize your proxy server to get out to Microsoft. You should have no problem installing the .NET 2.0/3.0/3.5 feature.
