You're getting error 0x800f0906 because you have KB3022345 installed. Uninstall it by going to Programs and Features in Control Panel and then click the link to "View installed updates".
In the Search box top right, copy/paste (or type) KB3022345 and when it appears in the list, right click it and choose Uninstall.

You may perform the SFC scan to that the dll files are repaired. Further, you may perform a full computer virus scan using Windows Defender to ensure that the computer is free from virus.

That reminds me of what a Microsoft tier one technician told me. He said that my problem was that I had applications installed on Windows. He said that Windows worked best when you had just the pure operating system installed on a computer; applications just mess up Windows.
That's because you're not talking to Microsoft, who doesn't provide direct support to end users (certainly not without paying for it beforehand). Common sense tells you that when you call a number you got from Google thinking that it's Microsoft and the "tech" tells you something that makes no sense, you're not talking to Microsoft.
Actually, you are incorrect. (a) I got the phone number that I called on www.microsoft.com, (b) yes, Microsoft does provide free, direct end user support if you say the right things, and (c) the tech said what he did because he was exasperated and didn't know what to do, and (d) I did not get the phone number from Google.

Like previous people on this thread I've run DISM and then SFC; both failed:
Like Oklejohn I've found netprofmsvc.dll (C:\windows\system32) & wmiprvsd.dll (C:\windows\system32\wbem on my pc. I can't find wmiprvsd.dll( c:\windows\winsxs..). I've also scanned my PC for viruses - it is clean.
Like people on this thread and numerous other ones on various websites, I still have not seen a solution from MS to this problem. Can you please advise.
