How do you turn off Fullscreen mode in Windows 8?

Despite all of the annoyances of Windows 8, I must say, the random "switching to fullscreen mode" is the most aggravating. . I thought I turned off full screen mode, but it keeps doing that fullscreen.... thing. It's done it -at least- 5 times while I typed this.

    That lame excuse is the best you could come up with? Boy, I'm screwed with my how to question about toggling the touch screen on and off.

    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Ease of Access Center\Make the mouse easier to use

    check "prevent windows..."

    My all these miraculous features to help users get back to a place they didn't want to leave in the first place. 

    Some me of u r clever, I'll give u that, along with condescending and a habit of looking down at ur customers. 

    I would b mortified and humbled to drop an operating universally considered a flop, then have to get 8.1 out to stop the flow of blood, and well deserved mockery.  Then chief idiot ballmer says "let's call the next release 10. That will fool our customers!).

    Remember some of us install this crapware on 20,000 and more computers and if they hate something there goes real money. 

    find a little humility and by all means establish relationships with ur customers. I've managed plenty of large tech products and it works best when customers tell u what they need and tech folks figure out the how

     How can I revert to windows 7?

    What are you planning on doing there?  Anything that you can do there can be done exactly the same way in W8.  The only reason you would be using the "Modern UI Fullscreen" UX with apps would be that you were trying to use MUF apps.  You can't use those in W7, so if you want to simulate a W7 UX in W8, just don't use any MUF apps.  Further if you are so against the MUF UX that you can't adjust to having a (Fullscreen)  Start Screen instead of a Start Menu you can get any of a number of third-party replacements for that remaining difference.

    This is absolutely ridiculous why would I want an operating system for work that stops me from being able to work in multiple windows at the same time!  This makes windows 8 completely useless to me!  How can I revert to windows 7?

    If I wanted a tablet I would just use my tablet!  I bought a computer so I could use a computer!
