How do you turn off Fullscreen mode in Windows 8?

Despite all of the annoyances of Windows 8, I must say, the random "switching to fullscreen mode" is the most aggravating. . I thought I turned off full screen mode, but it keeps doing that fullscreen.... thing. It's done it -at least- 5 times while I typed this.

    In IE, but sooooo many of us use CHROME! How do I stop this full screen annoyance in CHROME??!!

    Robert, I get almost the same thing the original poster had, but it jumps in and out of full screen when I'm moving the cursor (with a touch pad, I don't have touch screen). And only in Chrome. I get the message box "You are in Full Screen, press F11 to exit". 

    I almost never want to be in full screen in Chrome and want to turn it off. I tried Alt-space-H but it only worked for a minute. (I was typing a thank-you post to you when it jumped back into full screen!)

    It seems to be when I touch the touch pad near the top center. I've searched online for a touchpad "map" for Toshiba but can't find one.

    I'm getting used to other ways of moving between programs (since when are the all "apps" anyway??) but this accidental jump is very frustrating.

    It doesn't seem to happen in desktop mode. But I did like the convenience of launching from the tile.

    Sooo.... can I force the tile to launch into desktop mode? :P

    Sounds like you need to have Chrome in a Touch screen?

    No mention of Chrome there but later there's

    Perhaps the posters are trying to write into a text area using the Touch Keyboard in its TIP mode?  (More possibility of finger action that way. <eg>)
