I think this may have worked, sort of. I still can't resize the windows to where I want. But for Adobe Reader, if I move my mouse diagonally from the lower left to upper right corner, hold until the "Reader icon appears in the upper left, drag my cursor (quickly and without letting the top skinny header disappear) over and click on the Reader cursor and the select Split left (or split right) it at least splits the screen so I can see other stuff on the desktop. But it only splits it into 2 equal sized halves which is still less functional than it was before they added all these improvements.
Don't get me wrong, I mostly like Windows 8, but the auto full screen mode is terribly bone-headed. Dudes, most work is done on laptops and desktops with screens that are large. Even with 2 screens/monitors, I still need many other windows open simultaneouls on both screens..wait, why am I telling you this? Why do I need to justify the fact that you should never degrade current functionality? This is your business after all.
