    Stay vigilant, eventually some Microsoft system will notice this thread is open, and will cause someone to address it... more posts will help.

    Let's not let Microsoft mark this as "answered" until it is indeed fixed.

    I see that we all have the same problem and none of the suggestions work.  I think it is just a defect in Windows 8 and 8.1.  It shouldn't be that hard for msn to fix, but until then we will just have to live with it.

    I have deselected the option in 'View'  "Align Icons to Grid", (the Auto Arrange Icons was already off.) and the PC now swaps screens with no rearrangement of the Icons.
