KB 2670838 - The EVIL UPDATE

Why don't you fix the errors caused by KB 2670838 instead of having my computer re-install it as part of IE 10 without giving me any warning that it was going to do that?

This update has two effects on my system*; 1. For whatever reason, it turns the lower taskbar turquoise, 2. Explorer 9 or 10 and Chrome 25 get a 60 delay in information typed into them with internet speeds reminiscent of dial-up, while Firefox 19 ceases to function at all; The internet becomes essentially non-usable.

I wasted an entire day on this two weeks ago including an hour on the phone with one of your technicians when it was first installed.  He had no idea what the problem was and I eventually gave up and uninstalled it.  My problems ceased immediately upon its removal.

I had to go to an internet forum to learn that many people had these problems and how to set my updates to not automatically be installed.  That proved to be no help as when installing IE10 this EVIL UPDATE (KB 2670838) just re-appeared again with no notice in your description that this might happen.  Now I guess I will never install an update again since you provide no clues as to what it could do.

* My system info:

HP Envy, Windows 7 Home Premium, two screens attached using an HP usb notebook port replicator.  Buy the way, this HP port replicator is a piece of garbage that has to be rebooted (the replicator - not the PC) as it freezes once or twice a day.  But I thinks that's on HP - not you.

    Yes why not get a computer you have to spend more on, can't customize (easily), and every time you want to upgrade hardware you'll spend lots of money because good luck opening up a Macbook and not losing a screw.  I built a machine with an i7 2600K 3.4 GHz processor, 2 1 TB hard drives, 16 GB Corsair Vengence RAM DDR3, a decent motherboard (BioStar T68K+), a tower which can hold lots of drives, a NVIDA GTX 660 ti, and a Bluray burner (Burns DVD's and CD's as well for all of you who don't know).  I built this Machine for under $1000 and put MAC OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion tribooted along side Windows 7 Ultimate and Kali Linux.   I get that not everyone really knows how to do it, but I'm sure you know at least one person who can cut you a deal on setting you up.  Just buy parts.  Good luck finding a MAC with all that for that price.  Just for the record I also have a MacBook Pro with MAC OS X 10.8 Lion, Windows 7 Ultimate, and Kali Linux lol.  My suggestion is to learn about system restore.

    Hi PA Bear

    I know this post is already a few months old, but this problem still occurs. (with installed KB2670838 and DPI-Settings greather than 100% the PerfMon don't works)

    Every time i'm update the IE (to 10 or direct to 11) the PerfMon don't works any more. Is there any way to have an up to date Microsoft Internet Explorer installed in Win7 AND the PerfMon works too? (still working with IE9 at the end of 2014 ist not so funny ...)
