KB 2670838 - The EVIL UPDATE

Why don't you fix the errors caused by KB 2670838 instead of having my computer re-install it as part of IE 10 without giving me any warning that it was going to do that?

This update has two effects on my system*; 1. For whatever reason, it turns the lower taskbar turquoise, 2. Explorer 9 or 10 and Chrome 25 get a 60 delay in information typed into them with internet speeds reminiscent of dial-up, while Firefox 19 ceases to function at all; The internet becomes essentially non-usable.

I wasted an entire day on this two weeks ago including an hour on the phone with one of your technicians when it was first installed.  He had no idea what the problem was and I eventually gave up and uninstalled it.  My problems ceased immediately upon its removal.

I had to go to an internet forum to learn that many people had these problems and how to set my updates to not automatically be installed.  That proved to be no help as when installing IE10 this EVIL UPDATE (KB 2670838) just re-appeared again with no notice in your description that this might happen.  Now I guess I will never install an update again since you provide no clues as to what it could do.

* My system info:

HP Envy, Windows 7 Home Premium, two screens attached using an HP usb notebook port replicator.  Buy the way, this HP port replicator is a piece of garbage that has to be rebooted (the replicator - not the PC) as it freezes once or twice a day.  But I thinks that's on HP - not you.

    Fact is and i have this Testet:

    is the KB installed doesn't work many games Resident Evil 5, Daylight (Popups with a stupid message, No DX11  lol ), Lost Planet 1 and the combination of "EA Origin + Crysis 3". Is the KB not installed Crysis 3 Freezed if you play from Origin (Game Started, Blackscreen, Freeze ). I have taken a Special Fixed Exe and Crysis 3 Work without the KB267083 (Game Started, Blackscreen, Game Menu ). Is the KB installed work Crysis 3 from Origin.

    I'm a Gamer and i play old Titles (win95/Win98/Winxp) and new Titles but these Direct2D and Direct3D Updates are not always good. They makes more and more Incompatible with many,many Windows Games.

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and my Updates are ~Servicepack1. After Servicepack1 i close and Disable the Windows Updates Service.

    IE11 Prerequisites: KB2729094, KB2731771, KB2533623, KB2670838, KB2786081 & KB2834140

    That being said, none of the above had been installed when I installed IE11 manually a few days ago.

    The updates "drive-by" installed during the process were KB2729094, KB2670838, KB2786081, KB2834140 & KB2882822 but not KB2731771 or KB2533623.

    I have to manually scour each new important update to see if it contains or requires KB2670838 before I download it.

    Platform Update KB2670838 is a prerequisite update for IE10 and IE11.

    • IE10 Prerequisites: KB2729094, KB2731771, KB2533623, KB2670838 & KB2786081.
    • IE11 Prerequisites: KB2729094, KB2731771, KB2533623, KB2670838, KB2786081 & KB2834140.

    If a prerequisite update is not already installed, it will be "drive-by" installed when you install IE10 or IE11.

    Note that support for IE8, IE9 & IE10 in Win7 ends on 12 January 2016. After that date, you will need to have IE11 installed for Windows Update to offer any further security updates for Internet Explorer.
