Can I undo a refresh on windows 8, I have no restore points but would like to go back 24hours?

Seriously, that was terrible. My computer wouldn't boot up for some reason, and windows was giving me a few options to try fix the problem, first option was a restart. That didn't work, so I went into the advanced options looking for my trusty System Restore option, I found "Refresh" and "Reset".

The help text next to "Refresh" said "without affecting your files", this to me sounded like my old friend System Restore. I thought maybe windows had re-branded it, just like they changed "Add or remove programs" to "Programs and Features".

There was a second "Advanced options" button on this "Advanced options" screen. I didn't look in there, I guess that's where System Restore was. But what I want to know is why is this more destructive "Refresh" option comes before the good old (less destructive) "System Restore" option?

I'm very annoyed about this.

I have to admit I was extremely angry when I realized that my Microsoft Office was removed after the refresh, and before I edited this, I took a lot of time expressing my frustration. After I finally vented a little bit I went back to look at more options for fixing this problem on the support site. I followed my instincts, and I went to this technical support discussion.

I found that this helped a lot because it convinced me to go to the activation product key prompt for my Microsoft Word. After reading soo many people's comments about how we don't read, I do read a lot of stuff like this by the way I'm just not perfect, I saw in smaller print a link to activate the Microsoft by logging into my Microsoft Account. I think the tech guy might of mentioned something about installing it through the online log in. However, I have to admit it was late at night, and I might have been too tired to understand what he was saying.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I reactivated my Microsoft Office by signing into my Microsoft Account on the Activation Prompt Pop up that asks for a product key. I never needed the product key to reactivate it because all I needed to know was my Microsoft User ID and Password.

I really feel like a fool for getting so upset.
