Can I undo a refresh on windows 8, I have no restore points but would like to go back 24hours?

I've recently got a new computer with Windows 8, I was having trouble with it and decided to refresh to clean up all the bits and pieces I'd added to start again. The windows office package was installed recently by partner before he went away as he bought two licences and it has now gone.
Can I undo the refresh in any way? I have tried and tried but it seems there were no restore points. Very grateful for any advice as have just managed to get some work for first time this year and need word, excel etc.

No restore points = no going back. I don't think that you can go back anyway, certainly there is no easy way.
Your other stuff will have to be re-installed..
If you are going to need Refresh in the future, make a CUSTOM Refresh image that better reflects what is installed and running. The new image is not perfect but better than the default Refresh..

2013-02-23T20:45:33+00:00 I agree, this is very misleading. When it said refresh and that I wouldn't loose my files, I thought it meant just that. Instead it did a restore and I lost all of my files. Not very promising for a new Windows system

2013-02-22T23:41:55+00:00 Okay... Everyone calm down... I realized that windows doesn't delete the files... It just hides them so they don't run and etc... All the deleted programs are in a folder "root:/Windows.old" Everything deleted is there. Hope I helped.

The kids had played with it and left the screen set 90 degrees out, she thought that RESET would cure it - nope!
Her office is all gone, her contacts gone, her business accounts gone, jeepers, how can it look so innocent and yet be so devastating to the pc?
I'm setting her account to not being an administrator from now on, will that stop access to this option?
