I am too having the same problem in my windows 8 x64 pro version. its eating up all my bandwidth all the time.
A process called Service Host: Local System is using up all of my laptops resources

My laptop has been running very slowly for the past few days which is weird because my laptop is quite powerful and has always run very fast. I looked at my task manager and saw that a process called Service Host: Local System was using up almost all of my RAM. I am running Windows 8 Pro on a Sony VAIO S13P. What can I do to fix this problem?

I to was facing similar problem where. service host consumed lot of ram.
I applied the first method,which you gave.after scanning message shown was.
"Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix all of them".
if you could suggest the way to fix the problems it may make my system work properly.

2015-02-05T17:23:44+00:00 Method 1: I tried it. After the scan it said that some files had been fixed but some weren't able to be fixed. Is there something else that can be to try and fix those that couldn't be?

2015-02-08T17:10:14+00:00 this not gonna help, startup service is normal, but sometime still happend the hard disk usage is high (because of microsoft service) please tell what it is and how to avoid that. Service Host: Local System (network restricted)
