Sir -.- is this threat Problem Solved??
MS UPDATE FAIL causes api-ms-win-downlevel-user32-l1-1-0.dll MISSING
Since windows update ran a couple of days ago (this update inc ie10), I cannot run anything no application will run.
reports the following missing files.
- api-ms-win-downlevel-user32-l1-1-0.dll
- api-ms-win-downlevel-ole32-l1-1-0.dll
- wininet.dll
I have tried restore but this wont work as it says AV is running but i cant shut that down due to missing file errors when i try to run it.
- sfc /scannow reports no errors
- win7 disc repair reports that a camera or device is plugged in and wont repair when nothig is plugged in.
- cant run ms fix it as reports out the missing file error.
All was fine until this ms update ran
Please help I have worked for a client thats needs finishing ASAP.

2013-11-13T18:06:30+00:00 I am having the same issue. Windows Server 2008 R2 - Terminal Server.
We use RemoteApp and our host terminal server is unable to run any EXE.
I have tried uninstalling the updates, but they fail and cannot be removed. I also tried running in safemode, but nothing works from there either.
I saw someone had success running sfc /scannow, I am trying that. I will let you know if it works for me.

2013-10-16T15:21:21+00:00 hello all :) i have had the same problem with api-ms-win messages and i couldnot run any program on my computer and the only browser that worked was google chrome..i was able to solve the problem when i googled it and found that windows updates where the main cause..and when i tried to uninstall latest windows updates it was not possible..but i came around that by restoring system to the last date before update (mostly security updates)..from action center choose restore comp to an earlier time :) good luck :) oh ya and after restoring your comp of course change settings of windows update not to be done automatically but manually..
