How to fix "windows cannot find 'ms-windows-store:purge caches', make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again"

I got an error message saying "windows cannot find 'ms-windows-store:purge caches', make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again". I have no ideas what it mean. Please help.

Go to

Ctrl X

Bring up the Windows powershell admin

Type in the following

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

Go back to windows store and it should re-work!!

    My main problem was that the store along with all the other apps did not open 

    your solution only worked for the store is there a way it can work for all apps ???

    Yahya Al-Din's solution worked to get the store app working again for me.  After the store app was working, my original downloaded apps under Win 8 did not work. I then deleted the existing store apps that did not work that were downloaded under Win 8.  I then re installed them while in the new OS 8.1

    I hope this helps.
