what is masetupcleaner.exe

Received a request to run MASetCleaner.exe the first time today. SAMSUNG Kies was installed on Dec 6, 2012 (ca 3 weeks ago), and uninstalled a minute ago... Because initial setup was not done by me, I assume that the same request message have come earlier too and had been accepted then.

However, uninstallation related mainly to other problem solving case : have any of you experienced changes in Windows hibernation function after installing Kies ? I noticed that my Vista doesn't stay hibernated any more, instead Windows resumes immediately after hibernation mode has been reached (so basically it's working like an immediate restart). I launch hibernation from PCI DigitalTV software in order to record TV programs and do not want to keep computer on all the time.

Next I will make sure that Vista's hibernation is enabled and test the function again.

no one know, MaSetupCleaner.exe is ****. and you have to maunal uninstall it, use AirDroid it can the same as kies, if i know before i buy a samsung galaxy s3 mini, there was/are this secure problem, i never will got that

I updated Windows Vista to Windows 8. Then I installed Keis software which did not work in Windows 8. I uninstalled Kies software and now every time I turn on or restart my computer pops up a window asking if I wish to run MaSetupCleaner.exe? I think this is not normal. What can I do to eliminate this? What can happen if MaSetupCleaner.exe runs? Did you call to Toshiba? What they said?

I just installed the Kies package (Kies_2.5.0.12114_1_17.exe) downloaded from Samsung last week.  I installed it on a Windows 8 system that was clean.  There was no MASetupCleaner.EXE on the system.

After completing the Kies installation MASetupCleaner.EXE did show up in the Windows/WOW64 folder.  It had a date of 11/28/2012.  There were several other programs that were also installed in that folder with the same date.  I did a system restart at this time and rechecked.  They were still there.

Next using the control panel, I performed an uninstall of Kies hoping to see that the programs that Kies installed were gone.  No such luck, they are still there.

I then did another restart which resulted in a message that sais "do you want this program to make changes to your system"  Yes or No.  while getting a pen and pencil the message went away.

I then did another restart which failed and required a second try which worked.

Bottom line, I believe this Keis software is a problem and should not be installed.  I will call Samsung on Monday to find out more.  The Software that is the problem is created by MarkAny Inc.  Info can be found by right clicking on the properties of related files and looking at the details.
