Touch screen freeze/unresponsive LUMIA 920

I have been playing around with my phone last night taking pictures (the low light pictures are amazing)

and when I tried to unlock my phone this morning,

nothing of touch input seems to react,

even the buttons under the screen don't light up and do not respond on touch.

My power, volume and camera button all work.

Already did a few hard resets,

connected my phone to a computer hoping that would spark something

but nothing seems to work.

Anyone any idea what the problem could be and how to fix it

    I had the same problem with my screen frozen and read up all you had said here - tried and tried until I finally decided to take my SIM out and try all the solutions (holding down volume, on/off and camera buttons) and I got to the reset screen - but nothing happened there - just a picture of that wheel but not moving - but then I think I pushed the back button - or maybe the on/off button and everything came back to life! PHEW! Hope this doesn't happen again. Wish I knew what caused it ... so I won't repeat the action. Last thing I'd uploaded was "What's App" - and I had trouble with that on my Nokia E72 ... so maybe I should delete it.

    Hey there, i had the same problem as you but have an easy fix

    Open your back and take out the battery thing (not sure if it is battery im not a tech wizz). Your lumia should restart and be responsive.

    Finally, just by holding soft reset buttons for ages and ages, the ! came up and I thought I had generated a return to factory settings. the cogs whirred and everything looked great. Then, when the lets get started' button appeared it turned out the screen was still frozen....

    Same problem. Got my 920 two days ago. Had problems and needed to soft reset (ie volume down + power) a couple of times on first day. Hoped it was just teething. Today, after loading skype, it has locked down completely....tile screen is on but unresponsive. Pushing power button switches off screen. Pushing it again turns on lock screen which is also unresponsive. Soft reset just returns to unresponsive tile screen. Using camera button just activates camera. Tried to hard reset using power cable but it does nothing. 

    Will be returning the phone tomorrow. Pretty fed up.
