Hello YayaFino,
RT devices can only download Windows updates and apps from the Store. I would suggest you try the Google search app from the Store, it has Google search and 14 other Google apps built in (Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Calendar and many more).

I understand that you have issues with downloading Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is available as a desktop application which can be installed only on Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro Operating Systems.
You will not be able to install it on Windows RT devices.

I have windows Rt tablet and its telling me that I can install windows 8.1 if I install that will it then let me use chrome
I'd also like to hear an answer regarding this. I just installed 8.1 on my Surface "RT", and I'm having a very difficult time finding a calendar and contact "app" that will let me sync across multiple devices. I currently can't sync my Outlook calendar/contacts from the Surface with Outlook 2013 to my other computers also with Outlook. My understanding is that it simply cannot be done unless you are a company and have paid for an exchange server to do it for you.
So I'm thinking about just using google calendar (don't know if it can also do contacts), but google calendar currently only runs on Chrome 10... and that's why I'd like to hear if Surface 8.1 can run Chrome. I'll also look into outlook.com, but I have the 'real' Outlook software running on all my computers and the Surface, so it really frustrates me that I basically cannot use it at all for the calendar or contacts if I want to sync it on more than one device.
Just a quick follow-up thought - I understand that Google and MS probably want you to do eveyrthing within their own 'ecosystem' (and obviously Apple, too), but right now it just doens't work and the consumers are payign the price. The fact is, Google doesn't make a real computer (laptop) that I want to buy right now, but MS apparently can't make a syncable calendar/contact setup, either, that uses its own software (Outlook 2007 and 2013), so we seem to be left with hobbling half-@ssed solutions together that severely reduce effeciency and functionality!! ... or something like that :o)
The upgrade you're referring to is for Windows RT 8.1. As stated above Windows RT (8 or 8.1) cannot run x86 applications.
About syncing - the synchronization of data is dependent on your email service, not the client (program) you use to access the information (emails, appointments, contacts). The clients don't sync with each other, they sync with the email service.
If you have an email service like Exchange that supports these features then you connect your clients to the server and they all access the same information. Your Microsoft account (assuming you have an @Hotmail, live, or outlook.com address) will do what you are looking for.
