I can't download google chrome on my windows rt computer.

I thought RT was only used for corporations or small business'........... the other problem I see is that you can't even download ITunes for Windows 8, 8.1....and no one is blaming Google.... my problem is that I have to purchase a second laptop because of this situation.........I mean come on your HTC phones are able to download Google Chrome...... and you had those before you manufactured the Tablet.

Have you asked Apple to make a version of iTunes for RT? Like I keep saying, Microsoft can't make the developers make the apps. But if the company knows there's a demand, they might develop it.

No guarantees, of course, but it never hurts to try. I've added my voice to the many asking VUDU to release an RT app.

And again, DomFriant, if Google can release Chrome as a Safari wrapper (or whatever the iOS browser is these days), then there's nothing stopping them from doing the same on RT. Except that they don't want to.

Which is fine by me, to be honest. I have no doubt that Microsoft mines some marketing and use info for their own purposes, but Google's "big brotherness" is legendary. In this case, Microsoft comes off as the lesser of the two evils.

I agree entirely. Sure Google could release an IE wrapper and call it Chrome. And I'm sure you're right in saying they don't want to. You assume Google is happy about the fact that the most they can do is release a wrapper on iOS. I would bet money they'd much rather release an actually Chrome browser. We don't need Microsoft becoming Apple with locked down operating systems.

On top of that, a re-skinned IE isn't what people here are asking for... they're asking for the real Chrome browser... the same Chrome they install on Windows 8. The answer you have been giving people has been very vague in that it suggests that Google could actually release the real Chrome browser for RT when they can't. An IE wrapper would not only NOT be Chrome, it would be modern UI only when the real Chrome has both a desktop and modern ui mode like IE does. It's like you're directing shoppers down the Megablocks isle when they are specifically looking for Lego brand sets.

So let me put it clearly:

• Google is at fault for not releasing an IE wrapper and calling it Chrome.
• Microsoft is at fault for locking down the Windows RT OS and thereby preventing the real Chrome or any other third-party browser from being released for the OS.
