Hello YayaFino,
RT devices can only download Windows updates and apps from the Store. I would suggest you try the Google search app from the Store, it has Google search and 14 other Google apps built in (Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Calendar and many more).

I understand that you have issues with downloading Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is available as a desktop application which can be installed only on Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro Operating Systems.
You will not be able to install it on Windows RT devices.

Where did you buy a Surface 2 for $1000? I've seen them for around $500-$600 or usually less these days. My Surface Pro 2 only cost me around $500 refurbished. (It would run Chrome if I had any intention of polluting my system with Google garbage.)
Personally I think it's a real shame RT didn't take off - it offered more power than Android and iOS, and more security than x32/64 Windows. But MS didn't market it or explain it properly.
Nothing wrong with the Surface or RT; both were mishandled by Microsoft is all.
I know this thread is old, but I agree that Microsoft should have offered a serious credit to all the suckers (me among them) who bought this thousand dollar paperweight. They create a crap operating system and then abandon it, leaving us high and dry. I
have since bought a new Notebook. I wanted to buy a new surface, they are well built, but I refused to give MS my money because of my Surface 2 experience.
