it brings up a message saying "This app can't run on your PC" and under it this is the message it has "To find apps for this PC, open the windows store"

Hello YayaFino,

RT devices can only download Windows updates and apps from the Store. I would suggest you try the Google search app from the Store, it has Google search and 14 other Google apps built in (Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Calendar and many more).

I understand that you have issues with downloading Google Chrome.

Google Chrome is available as a desktop application which can be installed only on Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro Operating Systems.

You will not be able to install it on Windows RT devices.

    I read a ot of what is aid about Chrome and the RT will only download from the store. The store has Chrome in it for $1.49. If I pay this price and I able to get Chrome.

    They are not blocking chrome, Google doesn't want for Windows RT to support chrome. So they haven't yet released a Windows Store chrome app. Microsoft would be more than happy to have chrome on Windows RT, but that would allow people who want chrome to buy cheap Windows tablets instead of android ones.

    Did you even read this thread?? Several people including myself have explained

    1. Why the full Chrome browser can't be installed on Windows RT (blocked APIs), and
    2. That a Chrome "store app" at best would just be a reskinned IE.

    Not really worth Google's effort, and could end up hurting them if it's a bad experience.

    So far Windows RT has not ended up on anything I would consider a "cheap windows tablet"... they've all been quite expensive. The cheap windows tablets are all ending up being x86 Windows 8 tablets which ironically you can install the real Chrome browser on no problem.
