scroll bar/slide bar disappears after a few seconds very anoying

am on window 10 and my slide bar just doesn't stay up it goes down and stays down and when I slide the left and right side doesn't stop, its slides all the way to the end and wont do nothing..I am so frustrating because I have an recipes that I like to make got on line never had problem before, the about a week started silding down until I no longer have use of the cursor problems started on june 2016....funny thing is I even have to resets my computer and it didn't help at all....I have window 7 but converted to window 10 last year and my laptop is almost 4 yrs old and never have problems till now....

I never had any problems with the slide bar either.... Apart from the dissapearing trick that they love to frustrate us with but Microsoft then subversively infiltrated my laptop while i was out in the garden and without my permission downloaded Windows 10 on to it. Watch out for it.  Theres a box that comes up and tells you that W 10 will be downloaded in x amount of minutes and a timer starts counting down like a ticking time bomb.  

Of course if your not at the laptop when this happens then the bomb will go off and when you come back its already downloading/ed.  I'd like to know what would have happened if my laptop wasn't connected to the mains and the battery had died half way through the download or if I'd closed the lid wthout noticing. Dead computer? 

Anyway I come back from my little foray out in to garden to find my laptop upgraded to windows 10. Didn't ask for it.. Didn't want it but there it was,  so after some research on tinternet,  I see that I can downgrade it back to 8.1 within 31 days so I think well if I'm being forced to beta test it for them, what's to lose from giving it a try for 2 or 3 weeks?

Pretty soon I realise that its unstable and many programs run slower than they did before.  

Then, coming to your problem, I start having trouble with scrolling. Pressing on the up and down cursors resulted in scrolling too fast, so having to constantly readjust up and down... Very frustrating. Then to add to my frustration, while trying to use the slider bar in the hope of that being easier, it starts to freeze up and becomes virtually unusable. 

So desperate are Ms for us to use this broken piece of ****, that they actually download it on to your computer while your not looking  :)  

If I were you I'd think about following  my example and roll it back to you previous OS. If your able to of course. Windows 7 is better than W10 in my opinion (at least its stable) . Its either that or wait for some indeterminate length of time (weeks..months..years?) for updates that will make it work properly.

Is there any fix for controlling the speed of scroll. I have a new computer with w/10. H.P

It is year 2017 but MS still did not solve the problem!!!

Yes, I switched to Chrome and Firefox.  I just bought a Windows 10 i7 laptop with Edge preloaded, and I couldn't deal with it.  I switched to IE, and in two days I had gotten so sick of wiggling my finger on the touchpad to get the ribbon back that I gave up and loaded Chrome.  

I had every intention of using the preloaded product and simply couldn't do it. 

Microsoft, are you listening?  Don't blame the website developers for not rewriting their code to show the ribbon.  You made a choice which none of the browsers selected, and you are losing market share because of it.
