Does anyone know if there is a fix for nsi service eating up memory yet?I'm really getting tired of having it eat up to 3 gbs or ram all the time.I have a dump file if the need arises.

Uninstall IE 11 go back to IE 8 , you will not have any problems after. I suggest to go back to IE 8 and check to see if there is sny windows update excluding ie9,10,11 and after update install ie 9, 10,11 if you still have problem call Microsoft pay $200 if they didnt fix it they will refund the money . And in that case either dont use ie11 or if you want it format the computer dont let windows update install ie11 make sure it goes by order . You will be fine
Keep this thread open please. I'm having the same issue with 50 computers. Killing the svchost process if it's over 500k works for a while. We've had IE11 installed for couple of years now I guess so I don't think it's specifically IE 11 related. We also run citrix and quite possibly the keep alives associated with the ICA protocol may have something to do with it? Just a thought.

The svchost process running the NSI service stays around 2-3MB.
In the event the level of memory leakage after reinstalling IE11 was still unacceptable to me, and I resorted to trying Microsoft Hotfixes KB2950358 and KB2847346. The former gave a 'not required' message when I attempted to install it, but the latter installed without trouble and has reduced svchost.exe (LocalService) memory leakage to an extremely low level. Possibly there is always some leakage by this service, but I have not monitored it before so cannot say for certain. On my desktop it is currently has a Working Set stable at below 30MB.
Hope this helps and glad that I am not alone in having this problem, despite being 'careful' with my OS configuration.

I have had a similar experience to others, with a serious memory leak courtesy of the nsi service. This started after I updated two quite different Win 7/ SP1 Pro 64 bit machines from IE10 to IE11 (one an HP AMD-based laptop, the other a Dell Intel Core i5 desktop). In both cases the growth of svchost.exe (LocalService) was roughly exponential, as others have reported.
I fixed the laptop by uninstalling IE11, and then IE10 (taking me back to IE8), and then successively reinstalling back to IE11. This machine now seems fine.
I repeated the process with the desktop, but after installing IE9 there was still some leakage, although much reduced. IE10 refused to install at all, with error 9C59, but IE11 installed without problems, although took a long time. I now still have some memory leakage on this machine, but it seems to be at a much reduced rate, and if it's not exponential then I may be able to live with it.
I will try the Hotfix if I am still in trouble.
