Does anyone know if there is a fix for nsi service eating up memory yet?I'm really getting tired of having it eat up to 3 gbs or ram all the time.I have a dump file if the need arises.

Right now I am trying with Auto Update disabled for Microsoft Update. See how that goes for the next 15 days or so, then I will be trying a FRESH install of Windows 7, be on an entire new PC build as well. The new PC is going to be an Intel i5 on a gaming board, with completely different RAM. Be posting those results by the end of the month.
Yeah, it's fine for now. But eventually it will do what it always does and be 1GB+. So I don't consider it fixed really. Not that there seems to be any fix yet. Has anyone tried a fresh install of Windows 7 yet?
dude 20k is fine. When I was having this problem NSI was using upwards of 15 GIGS! After the IE9 downgrade I've been varying between about 12k and 60k or so.
Not such good luck here so far. Uninstalled IE11. After 5 days uptime with IE9 my svchost.exe is at 19,712K. It's been a slow increase this time. I'm sure it will decide to jump up fast eventually. I guess I need to try uninstalling IE9 back to IE8 and than install IE9 again and see if that helps any.
The steps I give seem to only provide more of an even playing ground on a whole... Still higher than a friend I have running Win 7, and NO NSI issues. However, I have noticed today and the time before at around 4 days uptime, after the most recent Windows Update notifications, and installs that NSI has gone way up again. See below pics:

And today I have after Windows Update, 64,888 K, with 1226 Handles. The 2 days uptime numbers are what my friend seems to be around all the time.
Now I have been monitoring this for a while, and like yourself Liam, I seem to go weeks sometimes with no issues, other times less than a day. It is hard to pinpoint, but I am going to disable auto updates for a while, and report back. MAYBE related to that, I do not know anymore. Anyone else able to notice a trend with auto updates, or even using MS update on a whole, please post your results!
