Why two Windows Folders in Local Disc?

I have just had to reinstall Windows XP Home. In Explorer under Local Disc, there used to be just one Windows folder. I now have two. One is titled Windows. the other Windows 0.  Why? Some of the files within them are different.

    just another note, I googled evesham axis64 Mkr and there were lots of hits, but lots were on websites that did not have a good reputation, (I have WOT installed to check this), but most were dealing with replacing components, especially memory, but could not find a thing on reinstallation. Sorry, we will just go with what we are doing now.

    Great. Thanks Elizabeth. I think you have solved the problem for me. The link to "windowsxphome" showed me where I think I went wrong. I should have deleted the partition. However, it does say on the link that the partition is a system partition and may contain diagnostics or hardware configuration programmes to start Windows XP. Presumably it is OK to do that and I do not have to install another partition because the next step shows an empty partition.

    okay will wait for updates, but the system partition may have been the partition that would have held the factory setting, what was the size?

    either way if it is still there after formatting we can see.

    The size of my C partition shows as 149.05GB NTFS with 98.03GB free space. What next?

    what is the size of your harddrive,  if you have just formatted the size of your free space should be huge as windows only takes 5 to 8 gb
