Why two Windows Folders in Local Disc?

I have just had to reinstall Windows XP Home. In Explorer under Local Disc, there used to be just one Windows folder. I now have two. One is titled Windows. the other Windows 0. Why? Some of the files within them are different.

Yes Elizabeth but when I typed my version in thier search box, it didn't recognise it. I can't find the version you mention. Could you show me a link please and I will try it?

Is this where you went to find your driver?

there is a driver of this version listed for a Compaq and an HP, would that be okay to use?

John, where will I find the name of my motherboard manufacturer?

If it's one of the majors like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc, get the drivers from their site. If you post the make and model number of your computer someone reading here might be able to help. It can be difficult to properly identify a motherboard, software like AIDA64, Sisoft Sandra, or Belarc Adviser can help.
