I have just had to reinstall Windows XP Home. In Explorer under Local Disc, there used to be just one Windows folder. I now have two. One is titled Windows. the other Windows 0. Why? Some of the files within them are different.

I've never heard of Evesham Technologies and I am not familiar with their recovery cd, if this was a small OEM their recovery disk might be the Microsoft supplied type of OEM that many small builders use. For all intents and purposes the installation routine on these OEM disks are practically the same as the regular Windows XP retail cd. Just boot the computer with the CD and pay attention and read all the on-screen prompts and instructions.
If it is a true OEM produced CD it still must have a way of returning the computer to factory condition as the Microsoft OEM licensing stipulates, it must be able to format the disk to return the computer to factory condition. Select the option to install Windows and it should then offer you the opportunity to do a destructive or full install of the operating system.

John, I think I have another problem then because I have an OEM computer from Evesham technologies who no longer exist and I do not have any instructions from them to use my Product Recpvery CD-ROM. In that case what should I do please? The first option I get on the CD-ROM is Install Windows XP. I do not remember there being an option to format the drive. Brian
When you boot the computer with your Windows XP CD you get this option early in the setup at the disk/partition selection screen (after you press F8 to accept the EULA). Select the partition onto which you want to install Windows and format it NTFS. If you are using OEM factory restore/recovery disk follow the instructions from the manufacturer.
