Hi Daniela,

It looks like there is something in the network which is blocking the device to get connected. So I would suggest you to go through the article and check for the exact issue.

Why can’t I connect to a network?

Why can’t I find a wireless network?

If you have any third party software installed on the computer, you can try disabling the anti-virus software and check.

Important Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Thanks this is a great suggestion for me since I also have a new ASUS computer. For many reasons, removing the ASUS Power4Gear application has helped, WiFi and processor speeds and congestion. The service was always running and activities were constant making those "helpful adjustment" to power settings. Once removed, I just went back to the actual MS pre-programmed power plans.

UPDATE on how I resolved my issue:

At one point in using the Microsoft network troubleshooting wizard the wizard suggested that I recycle the power on my router.  This seemed strange since all of my other devices were working fine.  I recycled the router anyway and sure enough the Vaio worked but only for a short while.  I bought a new router and everything has worked fine since.

I was having precisely the same problem but I followed tried several of the solutions on this thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_8-networking/wireless-network-keeps-changing-from-connected-to/ec14eb71-bf64-48b9-899c-191868cee696?page=2&tm=1370432297325#LastReply and the solution by Textbook worked for me.  [If that link doesn't work, go to search and type in "atheros ar9485WB-EG" and look for the thread entitled "wireless network keeps changing from connected to limited and back".]  You may have to uninstall the entire Atheros Bluetooth Suite and re-install it (as opposed to just the wireless card drivers).  Also, initially I thought this was just a driver/wireless adapter problem but after reading a bunch of forums, it might be a router problem as well, especially if you have an older router.  I guess there have simply been a lot of problems with Windows 8 and older routers.  I would say 80% of my connectivity issues have been solved by following the above suggestion but I think I'm going to buy a new router in the near future and see if that takes care of the rest.

There were a lot of threads on this exact topic and many of the solutions helped most people so my advice would be to try out many of the suggested solutions and hopefully you'll find 1 that works.
