Using Windows Phone 8, I am unable to open media content in text messages, says getting content but doesn't open

I received a text with the message "Get media content now". When I "click" on the message phone says "getting media content" then switches back to "get media content". The media does not open. 

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for having written on the forum.

It could be possible that you’re trying to open or download a format file which isn’t supported from Windows Phone 8.

Another origin of this problem could be related with if the files you’re trying to download or open are protected from a password. This feature isn’t supported from windows phone.

    Hi, I found this a puzzling issue as well.  But fortunately, I think I've found a solution, and it didn't involve resets or anything like that.

    This is for a Canadian service provider (Telus), and an unlocked BLU Windows Phone, but hopefully the thread can help some of you as well.

    Go to Settings > Mobile + SIM and switch on Data Connection.

    Data Connection is on, and still getting "get media content now" Reset, restarted to no avail
