Using Windows Phone 8, I am unable to open media content in text messages, says getting content but doesn't open

I received a text with the message "Get media content now". When I "click" on the message phone says "getting media content" then switches back to "get media content". The media does not open. 

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for having written on the forum.

It could be possible that you’re trying to open or download a format file which isn’t supported from Windows Phone 8.

Another origin of this problem could be related with if the files you’re trying to download or open are protected from a password. This feature isn’t supported from windows phone.

    I too have the media content problem, very unlikely to buy another windows phone after this. If MS cannot get the basics right they have no chance in getting repeat customers. Alan Catterson

    The only thing that has worked for me, and not just on windows android too, is to change cellular settings depending on carrier. I have Sprint....Scroll till you see cellular and click on that. Change from LTE/CDMA to just CDMA and pix might come back through. Although depending on how long the 'get media content' sat there they do expire and will say its not there.

    I just updated my Nokia 1520 To OS 8.10.14219.341 and now am having the identical "Ge Media Content now (32kb), "Getting media content...(32kb)" It never downloads. I have several .jpg's that have been sent to me and I cannot view them. Outside of a Hard Reset, I've done everything this strings recommends that a non-developer can do. A Hard Reset is not an option. MSFT, please respond.
