Hi, I don't know where to start. This is the second time I've been prompted to enter a 'code' that shall grant me access to my email even though I've only ever logged into it from the one address. I'd been forced to enter an email before which I'm sure is where the previous code was sent. What I don't understand is that if this is for my 'security' how was I able to change that email to something else completely - bounce it to a mate in across the globe who happened to be on the phone with me, who gave me the code to enter to access my own bloody email? Why does someone need to have an email to access an email? And how the **** does that work if you have 2 outlook addresses which require a code from the other locked outlook address? All your doing is pushing people to Gmail duh. When outlook prompted me saying "hey enter the code we sent you" What is the use of being able to change the email to anything you want? Is that secure or just 'Microsoft secure'? If I can change the email to whatever I want to get the code that's needed is this so much a security aspect for outlook or just an info grab so you can record peoples alternate email addresses? DISCUSS P.S. No, I'm not giving you my phone number, I have less security on my bank accounts and credit cards whose security is impeccable - its hotmail, get over it and let us just have our 'secret question'. Its been ongoing for years now...microsoft dont care. Yahoo is having all kinds of security issues, go with gmail. Funny thing with my hotmail/live, it would lock down several times a month. When I linked my email to my phone, the problem went away completely. Its never popped up again. I do however also have a gmail...just in case.

STUPID Microsoft! Just trying to add my account at my mom's place and it's asking me to verify account by a code sent via phone, THERE'S NO CODE!! Then I can't log in anymore!!! If Google has an operating system I'd certainly go for it!

You think the code thing is annoying? Heaven forbid you make a human error and enter the password in wrong a few times. Then you're really in trouble, and you have to fill out a form that gives you the third degree like you're trying to get into Fort Knox. Who did you last e-mail? What was the subject of your last e-mail? Who are your Skype friends? Have you made any Microsoft purchases? The list goes on. Then they take 24 hours to reply to say if your answers are good enough to let you in your own account. Tough luck if you have a bad memory. They just send an e-mail saying you didn't provide sufficient information with no further help. It's been days and my friend can't even use her own computer. Since everything is connected for your in convenience, she can't log into her e-mail account from another computer either. It's ridiculous.

Uch... don't it's just too much this. There should be a more user friendly way to secure the e-mails. Also having every connected to one e-mail is almost asking for it to go wrong and block users. Now what? Will she have to send in her ID and everything in order for Microsoft to let her in? Things like this are frustrating, to say the least. I hope you're friend will manage.

Funny thing with my hotmail/live, it would lock down several times a month. When I linked my email to my phone, the problem went away completely. Its never popped up again. I do however also have a gmail...just in case.
