Original Title:I can't instal Applications on Windows 8.

I can't install applications Via Windows Store , I received this error message: error code: ox80073cf9.please what can I do to solve this problem?Narcisse.Regards!

Hi Narcisse,

Thank you for choosing Windows 8 as your operating system.

I see that you receive the error code: 0X80073CF9, and are unable to install apps from Windows Store.

Let us work together to resolve this issue.

I would like to inform you that this error code is usually related to a folder that’s missing and prevents apps from installing.

Method 1: Recreate the AUInstallAgent folder.

**a.**Press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

**b.**Type %windir% and press Enter. You should now be in the Windows folder.

**c.**Look for a folder called AUInstallAgent. If it is missing in the Windows folder, then right click on an empty space and click on New folder.

**d.**Rename the folder as AUInstallAgent.

**e.**Restart the Computer and check if you are able to install apps.

If the AUInstallAgent folder is already available in the above mentioned location, then continue with these steps

Method 2: Reset Windows Store Cache.

Follow these steps to do so.

**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

**b.**Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.

Method 3: Try to install the apps in Clean Boot.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts**.**Here is the link for your reference to perform clean boot.

Check if you are able to install or update the apps in Windows Store.

    I had this problem with installing Age of Empires: Definitive Edition of Microsoft Store and I fixed it.

    the code: 0x80073CF9 has to do with updates. For it to properly work and install apps from Microsoft Store, i.e. Age of Empires: Definitive Edition you need to 

    Step 1: download this file, open it, it gives an error which is totally normal, and then restart your PC http://gofile.me/6vwLG/MNGXmKU8Y     

    ==> this will turn on your updates

    then it should work!!!!!!!!!

    ==> it didn't work for me so I had someone to use the program 'The Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.4.1.' and they did something but it was all chinese to me so ask for help if it doesn't work for you.

    then you can download your game, which is after Step 1.

    After downloading you should turn off your updatesagain, this is because windows might install drivers that are buggy and don't work.

    Step 2: type in 'Regedit', you should take administrator permissions over 2 keys which are:

    - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\DefaultMediaCost]

    and 

    - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TrustedInstaller]

    Step 3: download the file from

    (this will turn off your updates)

    Step 4: Restart your PC and you should be good to go!

    PS: I don't know if this will work for you, the way I explained it but I know it is a simple fix and has to do with updates having to be turned on in order for the Microsoft Store to be able to download and install Apps.

    I spent hours on Microsoft customer support and they were totally wrong regarding the problem I had.

    I am having the same problem but I keep getting this error Code: 0x00000190.  I can't log in to feedback hub and windows store can't get a connection and this error code also appears:CV: l9C8prcJp0WnuGk/
