Original Title:I can't instal Applications on Windows 8.

Hi Narcisse,

Thank you for choosing Windows 8 as your operating system.

I see that you receive the error code: 0X80073CF9, and are unable to install apps from Windows Store.

Let us work together to resolve this issue.

I would like to inform you that this error code is usually related to a folder that’s missing and prevents apps from installing.

Method 1: Recreate the AUInstallAgent folder.

**a.**Press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

**b.**Type %windir% and press Enter. You should now be in the Windows folder.

**c.**Look for a folder called AUInstallAgent. If it is missing in the Windows folder, then right click on an empty space and click on New folder.

**d.**Rename the folder as AUInstallAgent.

**e.**Restart the Computer and check if you are able to install apps.

If the AUInstallAgent folder is already available in the above mentioned location, then continue with these steps

Method 2: Reset Windows Store Cache.

Follow these steps to do so.

**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

**b.**Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.

Method 3: Try to install the apps in Clean Boot.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts**.**Here is the link for your reference to perform clean boot.

Check if you are able to install or update the apps in Windows Store.

    I have windows 10, and tried the first method.

    DO NOT PERFORM THE FIRST METHOD.

    Doing so will crash your computer and force it to repair itself. And delete all your files and force sign you into a temporary account.

    This worked for me aftery trying the above mentioned solutions to no avail. (I did not try clean boot)

    Hello there

    I would want to let you know that I have already installed window 10 I can't install a application witch comes up with a error code 0x80073cf9 I'm having problems with other applications as well. and also I am downloading karaoke and can't find the files for the music. please can you help me with my enquiry or can windows 10 be re-installed again. thank you Mr T Feely Freemans_******@hotmail.co.uk
