Error code 2343 message when trying to repair/remove iCloud 2.1.1.3...

I am trying to remove iCloud 2.1.1.3 and I get an error message "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2343." After I click "OK", it gives me the message "Fatal error during installation." How do I fix the error? What to do?

Hello Devon,

I would suggest you to run the fixit from the link “Diagnose and fix program installing and uninstalling problems automatically” and then check if this fixes the issue.

If that doesn’t work then I would suggest you to check with iCloud support for more information.

The latest Apple Update reminder admits that iCloud for Windows 5.0 is NOT compatible with Outlook 2016:

iCloud for Windows v5

This update adds support for iCloud Photo Library and two-factor authentication for Apple ID.

iCloud for Windows v5 requires:
- Microsoft Windows 7 or later
- Outlook 2007 or later or iCloud.com (for Mail, Contacts, Calendars). Outlook 2016 is not supported.
- Internet Explorer 10 or later, Firefox 22 or later, or Google Chrome 28 or later (for Bookmarks)
Looks like we will have to wait for a fix from Apple so that Icloud for Windows becomes compatible with Outlook 2016 and Office 365.

ICloud 5.0 was just released. It has the same error so the answer seems to be they don't care!

Exactly. We've gone from 2.1.1.3 when this thread was started to 5.0 and it sill has broken installer/uninstaller. Apple obviously wants this app to be broken on people's PCs. I get the update prompt to 5 constantly on my desktop. It won't install. I can't uninstall 4.x. What a pain.
