Hi,

You should obtain your Driver Software from your Computer or Hardware Manufacturer, not through 3rd party Programs or Windows Update.

Go to your Computer or Hardware Manufacture's website > Driver and Software Support Section > look up your Computer or Hardware Model number > then your Operating System > locate the correct Drivers > download and install them.

Cheers.

If suggestions above have not help you to get rid of this 'bogus' program, please try Revo Uninstaller and MBAM (as suggested in many related threads) which should take care of this PUP.

MBAM should detect it as 'PUP.Optional.DriverUpdate.A'.

This > 'Remove PUP.Optional.DriverUpdate.A virus Removal Guide' may be of assistance.

AdwCleaner (a trustworthy anti-adware scanner) may also be a good idea to search (and remove) for any other Adware or Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that might have been installed there with or without your knowledge or consent.

You need to remove - not only 'DriverUpdate' - but everything "SlimWare Utilities" that might have been installed (SlimCleaner, for instance?) there with or without your knowledge.

Hope this helps.

    BAD EXPERIENCE FROM THIS COMPANY.

I JUST HAD A HORRIBLE TIME WITH SLIMWARE UTILITIES/DRIVERS.    THEY PUT IN THEIR INFORMATION THE FACE THAT THEY WHERE AFFILIATED WITH MICROSOFT COMPANY AND i FELL FOR IT.  THEY PUT TWO DRIVRS ON MY COMPUTER IN MY RESPONSE TO A CODE 19 I WAS RECEIVING.  THE DAY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED MY SPEAKERS WERE WORKING GREAT.  I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING THE DRIVERS FOR $19.95 , THEY CHARGED ME 39.95 AND ACCIDENTALLY CHARGED TWO OF THE DRIVERS TO MY CREDIT CARD.  i CAUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY, CALLED THE COMPANY.  THEY TOOK OFF BOTH CHARGES AND A VERY NICE MAN HELPED ME GET THEIR STUFF OFF THE COMPUTER (HOWEVER, I DON'T THINK HE TOOK IT ALL OFF).   HE TOOK OFF THE SLIMWARE DRIVERS AND PUT HP DRIVERS BACK ON.  THERE WAS NOTHING WRINAG WITH THE DRIVERS TO BEGIN WITH.

I PURCHASED MY YEAR OLD COMPUTER FROM OFFICE DEPOT AND THEIR WARRENTY COMPANY GOT MY COMPUTER  RUNNING AGAIN, FIXING THE CODE 19.  THEN, THE SOUND WENT BAD ON MY COMPUTER.  HAD HP CHECK THE WHOLE SOUND SYSTEM AND IT ALL WORKS.  STILL NO SOUND.  IN RESEARCHNG CODE 19, I FIND OUT IT IS RELATED TO 'NO SOUND PROBLEMS'.  I STILL HAVE NO SOUND AT ALL AND EVERYTHING IS HOOKED UP RIGHT WITH THE HARDWARE.

SINCE  DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY I WILL ONLY GO THROUGH MICROSOFT PRODUCTS, DIRECTLY THROUGH A PHONE CALL TO THEM AND THEIR WEB SITE.

DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET MY SOUND BACK ON.    COMPUTER IS TWO MONTHS OVER WARRENTY AND HP WANTS $99 TO RUN A  CHECK TO FIX IT.  HOW CAN I FIX THE SOUND AND,  HOW CAN I REMOVE ALL OF THE SLIMWARE STUFF.?

These 'cons' have installed an advertisement and way to dowload Slimware on My Macbook of all things.  Anything I try will not let me remove it.  It keeps popping up over and over again.
