Is slimware utilities legitimate?

I was taken to slimware to update drivers.  Is this legitimate?  Or is there a better, safer way to upadate.

Hi,

You should obtain your Driver Software from your Computer or Hardware Manufacturer, not through 3rd party Programs or Windows Update.

Go to your Computer or Hardware Manufacture's website > Driver and Software Support Section > look up your Computer or Hardware Model number > then your Operating System > locate the correct Drivers > download and install them.

If suggestions above have not help you to get rid of this 'bogus' program, please try Revo Uninstaller and MBAM (as suggested in many related threads) which should take care of this PUP.

MBAM should detect it as 'PUP.Optional.DriverUpdate.A'.

This > 'Remove PUP.Optional.DriverUpdate.A virus Removal Guide' may be of assistance.

AdwCleaner (a trustworthy anti-adware scanner) may also be a good idea to search (and remove) for any other Adware or Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that might have been installed there with or without your knowledge or consent.

You need to remove - not only 'DriverUpdate' - but everything "SlimWare Utilities" that might have been installed (SlimCleaner, for instance?) there with or without your knowledge.

    is slimware utilities OK? I downloaded it to update my drivers in windows 10

    ARE YOU KIDDING???!!! There are 7 pages of comments, dating back to 2014, on how nasty a virus slimware is and you still downloaded it? Then, only after downloading it, do you ask if it's OK??? You and all that are just like you, are the reason why the scum of the world create and thrive on selling corrupt computer products and/or all forms of corruption, that are in this world. If people would stop being so naive, trusting and too lazy to research things prior to welcoming them into their lives, there wouldn't be such a vast market for the scum to live off of. There is a difference between being a newbie and being ignorant. Which one are you?
