I need a windows 7 disc. My eMachine came without one.. Getting this error: "There is an error with your installation. Please reinstall the application"

How R U BearPup? I thought the problem was taken care of. I burned the ISO using the bfile for ImgBurn, and it allowed me to get into the machine. I ran the first first part of the Recovery Process.

Step by step of what I did:

1. Windows is loading files
2. Scrollbar is running
3. Searching for Windows installationh
4. Ran Startup Repair

    Here R the results:

    Test 1: Root Cause Found:

              Name: Boot Status Test

              Result: Completed successfulley. Error = 0x0

The next twelve test were run, with these results

Check for updates    System Disk Test   Disk Failure diagnosis   Disk Metadata Test   Target Test   Target OS test   Volume Content Check   Boot Manager  Diagnosis   System Boot Log Diagnosis   Event Log Dianosis   Internal State Check   .

Last successful Boot Time: 5/5/2013 9:33:08 GMT

5)  Showed Hard Drive Disks (5)  System Reserved (C:)   eMachines (D)   PQ Service (E:)   Local Disk (G:)   Boot (X):)

I was able to see my files on the (D:) Drive. I could even save some of them to a Flash Drive. But when I clicked "Click Load Drivers I got this message: Insert the installation medis for the device and click OK to select driver.:

Got this message "No Boot Disk has been detected or disk has failed.

Then I started over again, this time using "System Restore" this showed me 7 dates and times. I clicked on each one, the one dated 5/5/2013 / Automatic Restore Point said 'you must enable System Protection on this drive.

All the other possible restore points said the same thing. Here is where I am lost. When I ran the "System Restore" earkier all said "You must restore drive containing windows. None of the Possible "Restor Points" would allow me to check the box, and use as a restor point.

I went on line to eMachines and they wanted $99.00 to get a Full Windows 7 Installation Disk, But I did not, because you said the file I downloaded was the full win 7 disk.

Do you think I need to get another Hard Drive? I will wait until I hear from you.

Sorry for the delayed reply, I lost my email and I'm just now sorting it all out. So you need the Home Premium 64 Bit version of Windows, right?

 

The download link for the ISO file is here:

 Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)  - X17-58997 .

 

Once you've downloaded the ISO file you need to burn it to a DVD - right-click on the file name and click Burn to disc. Once you've done that you're ready to go. Just place the DVD into your DVD player and reboot the computer. The installation process is automatic and self-explanatory. Towards the end is where you'll be asked for your product key. Insert it then and you're good to go!

Hello Steve,

Lets start at the very beginning. Is your eMachines computer a laptop or a desktop computer?

Also, to be clear, you already own a valid Product Key, correct? This is a sticker on the bottom of your laptop, or on the rear or side of your computer, and clearly is marked Product Key. I want to make sure you can read a DVD OK - do you have a DVD that you can test in your machine?

Lastly, are you downloading and making the copies of the ISO files on the "damaged" computer? If so, we may be able to salvage your computer another way. If the answer to this question is yes, try this instead of the Windows DVD:  download and burn to a CD the following:  http://download.cnet.com/BootMed-64Bit/3000-2094_4-75450831.html .

You do this by downloading the file (another long download) and then right-clicking the ISO file, and then clicking on Burn to disc (this will fit on a single data CD).

If you can do this successfully, insert this CD into your computer and try to start it using this CD. Its a Live CD that should allow you to boot 'around' any virus or malware infection, and allow you to restore your computer this way.

Please let me know how you want to proceed and/or answer my questions and we'll move onto the next step.

Thank you for all the time you are taking to help me. The drive I have on the computer I am using says "CD Drive" so I guess this is just a CD burner, and not a DVD Burner. When I try to burn to the disk I get a message that says you can not burn file larger than 2GB. So I am going to have to go to Office Depot or BestBuy and get them to burn the ISO, which I will save to a flash drive.  I will do this Friday.

Which of the two files should I get burned? One is 3.09 GB (says ISO File) and the other is 1.20GB (says 1SO PART.
