How to disable gestures (charms bar, edge swipes, etc...) without changing the registry

Microsoft Level 1 techs tried to fix my computer when they saw for themselves the charms menu on a brand new Acer Laptop  acting like a virus. Every 2 minutes it comes up freezing all work. They could not fix it. They escalated it to Microsoft level 2 techs who completely screwed me, they altered my registry & now my new Windows 8.1 Laptop refuses to install any Windows updates for over 2 months. 

I have run every fix tool Microsoft makes for Windows 8.1 NOTHING WORKS.

Microsoft has turned their back not willing to fix my new computer. Charms bar still acts as a Virus.

The touch pad is jumpy & unstable since I started the computer the first time. Many have these exact problems from this train wreck of an OS.

Warning. Do not buy a Laptop with Windows 8.1. It is a cheap imitation of a Mac with many, many problems. If Apple were smart they would lower their pricing  to take all Microsoft customers & market share who trusted Microsoft only to be ambushed  by the most Horrific OS ever put out on the market - Windows 8.1.

I cannot disable the charms bar and clock without turning off in the registry.  Then I lose other functions.

I bought an HP laptop last year for about $500 and it had OS 8 on it.  Hated and sold the laptop cheap.  Two weeks ago I bought two high end ASUS laptops with OS 8.1.  First, the settings and control panels are different between the laptops even though they are the same mode and I bought them at the same timel.   Hmmm.

Ok, I'm the dummy because I listened to the salesperson who said that I could disable the charms bar on OS 8.1 especially with USUS.  I can't disable it.  And I have lost more controls to personalize the PC.

I've completely had it with Microsoft junk.

I have one MAC for my wife.  And we love it.  I'm going to sell the two ASUS computers, lose money again and buy two MAC's.  I have to have reliable PC's for my at home business, and need the ability to stream line them to save time.

With every release Microsoft creates a less user friendly package.  Why don't they have better user groups to go through this before final release???   Why because they are smug and don't care.   That's why from now on they are going to charge monthly / annually for office products.  So you really don't own it you just rent it.  Well then they should lower the price of office products to the cost of manufacturing the DVD and box.

Uverse stinks too, because they raise your package price every month and never comes through with the supposed adjustment.  I know many many many people who complain about this.

Buy MAC.  It's expensive, but your worth it.  Plus MS is out of date in everything they offer.

This has been driving me crazy and this helped to figure out how to turn this annoying feature off. The feature annoyed me even more when I learned it was called the "charms bar." What are we, 10 years old? Who talks like that?

THANK YOU!    I looked all over windows and the Lenovo settings to turn the Charm swipe off.
