Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    Hello, people!

    First of all, I'm sorry for possible errors in English grammar or typing. I'm from Brazil and I can't speak English very well.

    I don't installed the updates on my PC yet. But I searched for possible problems in each update released before installing them, and it brought me to this page.

    I had the same problem on other occasions (like when M$ has released KB2823324). When this happened to me, I tried the solution described in this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910339/pt-br [text is in Brazilian Portuguese, but I think there is a translation for your language(s)]. I don't know if it really can solve this, but it worked very well for me at that time.

    just turning Window Update off gave me peace and quiet:).

    In 2 or 3 days I'll turn it on again and look what happens.

    If Microsoft hasn't solved the problem until then, I'll turn off Windows Update again.

    And again ..

    And again ..

    Hello,

    Why don't you hide these 3 updates temporarily instead of turning off windows update until a fix is issued?  This way you'll get other updates and you never know when a critical security hole gets patched.

    I am having same problems.

     

    Those 3 update have according to my list downloaded correctly.

     

    They downloaded 2 times now and reflect correctly download twice.

     

    I have turned off and turned computer back on.  I have rebooted.  All with the same results.  I keep getting the notice to download the updates.

     

    AND is there anyway to hide updates you don't want.  I HATE BING!  And tired of being told to down load Bing desktop and tool bar.

    I hate that update too.  Just right-click on it and select Hide.  It won't show up again until a new version is released.

    I haven't posted on here in years, is there any official MS support here or are we just ranting to ourselves ?

     

    Based on the non-response from Microsoft, I would say there is no support here from Microsoft.
