Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

Known issues with this security update

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    What are the step needed to "Hide update"?

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Service Pack 1

    64bit version of Windows.

    Breath for a second.  It was a general comment.

    Yours is not the first propose work around.  Whether it be your technique (uninstalling all sorts of stuff) or others (involving reg hacks....), these measures are possibly risking much bigger issues, or causing usability problems (for some people the Microsoft Office Access database engine 2007 is critical component of certain programs they use) ...  For sure experienced IT personnel can give it a whirl (they have the capacity to fix anything they break - or reformat at the very least), but for the average user this could cause more problems than it fixes.

    Regardless of the version, I don't recommend to anyone to start uninstalling SP, hotfix, patches,.... whole applications, performing reg hacks, or god knows what else may have been advise here, or anywhere else.

    People need to wait for a proper fix from Microsoft.

    I have the 2010 Office running on my Vista PC as well as the 2007 version and attempting this update seems to have deleted Excel 2007 in its entirety.  It even removed the shortcut for the program.  I guess I really don't need parallel programs, but for certain operations I prefer the 2007.

    Oh, well!

    My Microsoft Windows update history shows Security Update for Microsoft Excel 2007 (KB2706583); Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2760588); and Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2760411), were all installed three times successfully on September 11 and 12, 2013. When I tried to use Microsoft Fix It, an error message popped up claiming that I had to download .NET Framework 2.0 or higher to work, but my PC already has .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 along with update KB963707 for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed. Each time I run the Fix It program, it bounces me back to downloading the same .NET Framework version. This issue is getting to be very time consuming.

    PC info: Windows XP; Home Edition (Version 2002); Service Pack 3
