Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

  • KB2760583

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

Known issues with this security update

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    Hopefully ms will tend to this fast.  I guess more new people are waking up to find this has been happening and , so far, the only thing which has worked for me was to just take out the 2, in my case, looping updates ...411 and ...588 go to the current updates installed and took those to out and then went to the pending updates , where those 2 were residing again, and right clicked to 'hide update' and all teh pain in the neck stuff went away. no more shut down icon to install new u pdates adn no more new update note in the bar. i am waiting for the fix, I read the note/message some ms person sent to Softpedia stating they were aware of issue and working on a fix. i will wait and then install the fixed or replacement updates.

    This has been going on with me all day today on Windows Vista. KB 2760588 and KB 2760411 has installed 6-7 times and keeps coming back to be installed again.  I can't beleive M/S wants 99 bucks to fix thier problem!  Fix it!!!!!

    I have the exact same problem with the same updates.  This is the first time this has happened.  I contacted Microsoft through their chat room and he had me run a fixit link which did not work.  They told me if that did not work, I shoud contact them again and they would look further for $99.  I am not going to do that because I think it is a microsoft update problem and if they receive enough complaints they may resolve the problem with their end.  I run windows xp.
