Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

Known issues with this security update

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    Same problem. Keep repeatedly receiving updates for KB2760588, KB2760411, KB2760590 and I don't even have Microsoft Office, other than Excel Viewer--I use MS Works and use Vista 64-bit operating system.  And now it wants to repeatedly update an Optional update for Microsoft Essentials KB2310138, Appears this could be a problem with ALL future updates.

    I am having same problems.

    Those 3 update have according to my list downloaded correctly.

    They downloaded 2 times now and reflect correctly download twice.

    I have turned off and turned computer back on.  I have rebooted.  All with the same results.  I keep getting the notice to download the updates.

    AND is there anyway to hide updates you don't want.  I HATE BING!  And tired of being told to down load Bing desktop and tool bar.

    This is just to add another to the list of 'victims'. I use Secunia PSI and had even uninstalled and reinstalled that before I realised that the fault was in the MS software somewhere. Hoping for a fix soon.

    I have the same three reinstalling multiple times. (Win7)

    Yesterday I called Microsoft Support. Eventually I was connected to a "Tech" that obviously isn't located near Redmond or even North America.

    He put me on a lengthy hold, then said this was a "difficult fix" and suggested a Logmein Remote session (mistake)

    He spent considerable time re-setting browser settings to default values, dumping, cache, cookies & history. Basically reading from a script.

    Watching the screen I never  seen him try to remove the three offending updates and try for a re-install.

     Forget looking at the installation History (now about the size of paperback War & Piece).

    He had no answers, said he would pass this onto his "Boss"

    Looking in Control Panel > Programs & Features > Uninstall, search filtered for KB2760xxxx I have multiple installs of KB2760411 (plus the other two) in multiple places on multiple dates.

    After he assured me "I was protected" he was all done. They reinstalled twice more on shutdown & startup. He left me with no resolution, no path to a fix and no where to go.

    As of now, I had to prevent Windows from performing any backups because my last Disc Image is from 9/9/13, one day before this all started. I don't want that Image overwritten until this is settled.

    Win Update is now also turned off.

    I will try to post a "snip" image of the "uninstall page" showing multiple dates & installations.

    Anyone have a  clue ? The MS "Tech" sure didn't

    My issue is that I have the full suite of Office 2007 and do not want to uninstall all of it.
