Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

Known issues with this security update

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    Yes it appears to be fixed      I hid the updates and now when i search for high priority updates there aren't any and the 'hidden updates' have gone also

    What's going on here?  Does the whole world post about having the same problem?  When and where does MS step into these threads and tell us to cool our heels--that the problem is being fixed and/or here's what to do?

    My problem at least is totally fixed now.  With the two repeat patches still hidden and one of each previously successfully installed I did a new Windows Update search, found that the repeat patches were no longer found and looking into the hidden section found them both missing.

    All is back to normal.  Bye-bye on this one.

    Took advice above, but still received "Update Ready for installation" message.

    However, problem has been fixed on my computer (obviously by Microsoft in Update).

    (1) I unhid the update that kept repeating.

    (2) deleted the Excel 2003 (KB2810048) installation showing in Control Panel/Programs.

    (3) I reinstalled the Update.

    (4) STILL received another message saying “Update Available.”

    (5) Ran another “check for updates.”

    (6) Received message “No Updates Available.”

    Thank God.

    Since this has been occurring since 9/10/2013, it has been a real pain.

    I just fixed this problem for my PC that is NOT a workaround.  I just posted a step by step instruction on how I got this endless update loop to stop for good.  I hope this works for you as well.
