Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

  • KB2760583

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

Known issues with this security update

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    Uninstall updates. And then install updates one at a time

    I had to remove some adware materials from my PC and the next day KB2760411 & KB2760588, both, Security Updates for Microsoft Office2007 Suites, appeared in the little yellow update shield down by the time on my PC. I can install them, and the shield disappears for about 2 minutes and it reappears with the same updates, that were already successfully installed.

    I am having the same problem with Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites KB2760411 and KB2760588.  The update KB2760583 did not appear on my list of updates.

    I at least am happy right now that so many people are having the same problem and that it is not something I did to my PC. I hope that Microsoft is working on this problem.

    After installation, the yellow shield should disappear and not reappear until there are different updates....I Use Windows XP Pro

    I'm still having the same issue.  I don't understand how some have it fixed.  I'm running Vista.  Could it be that it's only been fixed for Windows 7 & 8?

    Go to => Microsoft Update and do a Custom scan. No High priority updates should be shown.

    I still get 3 high priority updates and 3 non priority ones!  It's the same as it was on 9/10 even though I installed the updates (13 of them today) that were supposed to fix the problem.  I have rebooted my computer twice and it still installs the updates dated 9/10.  Please help.
